    2. Thanks for this info. I have been confused by the Roy Brown entry I have in my Brown file. I have wondered in the past if their might be two different Roy Brown's and this confirmed that. So does anyone know if Roy Howard Brown's father, Walter Brown connect to the Steven Brown Elizabeth Spoon family. Vernon, died at 11:50 p.m. on April 24, 2007, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Roy was born on Sunday, Aug. 26, 1923, to Walter V BROWN and Cora B. (PHELPS) BROWN in Jefferson County. He later married Martha L. SMITH. He was a truck driver for Bonifield Brother Trucking Company. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Reverend Ron REYNOLDS officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be at New Shiloh Cemetery in Jefferson County. Roy is survived by his wife, Martha L. BROWN of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Lee BROWN and wife Sandy of Hurst and Kenneth Michael BROWN and wife Glenda of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren, Leanne CORNELL and husband Christ of Hurst, Chris BROWN of Hurst, and Cindy BROWN of Decatur; and sister Betty FORD, Clearwater, Fla. Six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents, brother Ray BROWN and sister Cordelia FIELDS preceded him in death. Roy was a member of the Mt. Vernon Moose Lodge and was Baptist by faith.
