CARRIER MILLS - Juanita Nolen, 99, passed away Thursday evening at the home of her son Bill Nolen in Carrier Mills. Juanita was born in Peoria, June 26, 1913, to the late Amon and Ethel Smith Jones. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Carrier Mills and retired from the former A.L. Bowen Center of Harrisburg. She was married June 22, 1938, to Dale Nolen and he preceded her in death May 24, 1997 She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sue Nolen of Carrier Mills; grandchildren, Clay and Lori Nolen of Carrier Mills, Britt and Michelle Nolen of Carrier Mills, Neal and Suzie Nolen of Vienna; great-grandchildren, Brittian Nolen, Brea Nolen, Logan Nolen, Clayton Nolen, Taylor Nolen, Zack Gulley, and Jeffrey Gulley; two great-grandchildren, London Feazel and Maddox Gulley; and one sister, Virginia Stokes of Broughton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and two sisters, Madeline Horn and Celesta O'Neal. Services will be at 11 a.m. today, April 13, in Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
