Register-News, Mt Vernon IL, Mon 26 Aug 1996 GUY CAPPS Guy A. CAPPS, 89, of Mt. Vernon died 2:55 a.m. Aug. 25, 1996, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center. He was a retired printer at L.S. Wood Printing Co. Mr. CAPPS was born June 4, 1907, in Franklin County, a son of George W. and Emma (PAGE) CAPSS(sic). Dec. 24, 1931, in Jefferson County, he married Myrna G. PAGE, who died Sept. 26, 1977. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gene AUXIER officiating. Those attending the graveside services are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Tuesday morning. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home. Mr. CAPPS is survived by a son, James E. CAPPS and wife Mary Ellen of Mt. Vernon; grandsons, David CAPPS and wife Wendi of Mt. Vernon and Michael CAPPS and wife Donna of Swansea; three grandchildren; sisters, Pearl CASEY of Dahlgren and Zella PAYNE of Dahlgren; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. Mr. CAPPS was preceded in death by his parents, wife, seven brothers and two sisters.
