Ethel Mae “Tooter” Zid (nee Kerley), 82, of Hot Springs Village, AR and formerly of Brookfield and rural West Frankfort, IL passed on Monday, April 15, 2013. Mrs. Zid was born on September 14, 1930 near Parrish, IL, the daughter of William Kerley and Nellie Christine (White) Kerley. She married Joseph J. Zid on April 28, 1956 and he survives. Ethel Mae was a homemaker. She attended the Church of Christ Scientist and was a Christian her whole life. She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Joseph J. Zid, Hot Springs Village, AR, one son, Joseph W. (Leanne) Zid, Carol Stream, IL, one daughter, Elizabeth Zid, Carol Stream, IL, her grand-dog, Nellie, one sister, Eula Spain, Benton, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Mrs. Zid was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Jewel (Alma) Kerley, Ray (Rose) Kerley, Eldon Kerley, Billy (Vonda) Kerley, four sisters, Reathel (Raymond) Locklar, Roslea (Tom) Sadler, Jessie (Robert) Pruess, and Wanda Monelle Kerley. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p. m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday at the funeral home with Brother Jimmy Kerley officiating. Interment will be private.
