    3. Register-News, Mt Vernon IL, Sat 6 May 1972 JACK PAYNE EWING Jack PAYNE, 52, of Route 1 Ewing, was dead on arrival at Franklin Hospital in Benton Friday Evening. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Ewing Baptist church. The Rev. Clyde RAY will officiate. Burial will be in the Ewing cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Johnston Funeral Home at Whittington where friends may call after 6:00 p.m. today. Mr. PAYNE, a farmer, was born July 9, 1919 in Illinois, the son of Willis and Jennie (MOORE) PAYNE. He was married May 19, 1945 to the former Margaret ALLOWAY who survives. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. PAYNE was a member of the Ewing Baptist church. Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents, of Ewing; one son, Willis James PAYNE, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jeanne Alice CREMEENS of Rolla, Mo., and Carolyn Sue PAYNE, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Mary HAYS of Marion and Mrs. Alice TEFFERTILLER of McLeansboro. == Per Ewing Twp Franklin Co IL Cem. book, pg 7, Ewing-King Cem.
