W. Joe Moore W. Joe Moore, 77, of West Frankfort passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at his residence. He was born February 3, 1936 in Thompsonville to Guy and Lillian (Odum) Moore. He married Joan (Bowen) on September 28, 1958 in Parrish. Survivors include his wife, Joan Moore of West Frankfort; son, David (Sheila) Moore of West Frankfort; grandson, Tyler Moore; step grandchildren, Joseph Gooch, Elizabeth Gooch and Meagan Heflin; a brother, Clarence (Dawn) Moore of Manteno, Il. and a cousin, Charles Gettings of Thompsonville. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of the Faith Assembly Fellowship in West Frankfort and the American Legion of Thompsonville. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Moore was a assistant supervisor for Clark Oil Refinery in Blue Island Illinois for 44 years. He loved being outdoors and working with his hands and enjoyed spending time with his family. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Parker - Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Gary Brown and Rev. Gene Cowsert officiating. Burial will be in the McCann Cemetery East of West Frankfort with military rites by the American Legion of Thompsonville and the Marion Funeral Honors Team. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion of Thompsonville and will be accepted at the funeral home.
