Register-News, Mt. Vernon IL, Fri 12 Feb 1999 ZELMA WARREN (includes photo) Zelma D. WARREN, 74, of Mt. Vernon died 3:05 p.m. Feb. 11, 1999, at Crossroads Community Hospital. She was a clerk at G.C. Murphy Co. She then worked at Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory, and later was a clerk at the Jefferson County Clerk's Office. Mrs. WARREN was born March 12, 1924, in Jefferson County, a daughter of the Rev. Marsh and Izetta (PEMBERTON) HARPOLE. June 18, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., she married Wendell P. WARREN, who survives. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hughey Funeral Home with Mr. J. Howard KRAPS and Mr. Randy SELLS officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Hughey Funeral Home. Mrs. WARREN is survived by her husband, Wendell P. WARREN of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Linda KIMMEL and husband Phillip of Mt. Vernon and Melody TRUE and husband Mike of Woodlawn; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marjorie EARLS of Mt. Vernon and Wanda HOOD and husband Gale of Lake Okeechobee, Fla. Mrs. WARREN was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carol CAPPS; two brothers, Edwin HARPOLE and Elgin HARPOLE; and one sister, Evelyn DEICHMAN. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Jefferson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Gray Ladies Auxiliary.
