She was a housewife. she was born Sept. 29, 1897, in Franklin County, a daughter of Bradley S. and Mary Agnes (MAGILL) JOLLEY. July 3, 1923, in Shawneetown, she married William Lawson PAYNE, who died Oct. 5, 1992. Services were held 11 a.m. today at Brayfield Funeral Home in Sesser with the Rev. Woody WILSON officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. She is survived by five nieces, Ilah WINN and Mable PAGE of Sesser, Mitzie WARD and Jean KRETZ of Christopher, and Patricia LEGGETT of Miami; three nephews, Charles and Ron HUIE of Christopher and Robert JOLLEY of Orland Beach, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Janette JOLLEY of Spokane, Wash. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and a 50-year member of the Sesser Women's club. She was also a member of the Sesser American Legion ladies auxiliary. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
