Jo Ann I thought Mae Robertson's first name was Jennie but I can't find my source. Here's the bio for her father and family: John Robertson John Denny and Amanda (Bookwalter) Robertson settled on a farm in Section 3, Webber Township in Jefferson County in January, 1906. John Denny, son of John Denny and Eliza Carson Robertson, was born in Dublin, Iowa, January 2, 1850. He comes of Irish parentage. His great-great-grandfather, John Robertson, was born in Scotland but later went to County Tyrone, Ireland, where later generations of the family made their home. The great-grandfather, William Robertson, was born in Ireland in 1753. his death, at the age of 38, resulted from injuries received while he was making the arrest of men engaged in a fray at a public fair. The grandfather, John Robertson, was the first of the family to come to American, arriving in 1796. John Denny's father, John Denny Robertson, and his mother, Eliza Carson, a native of Tyrone County, ireland, moved from Ohio in 1842 to Iowa and settled in Washington County. They later built a large two story brick home. Amanda Bookwalter was born August 19, 1862 at Gardner, IL, the daughter of Michael and Sarah Kulp Bookwalter. She was of Swiss, German and French descent. Though her parents were Methodists, her other ancesteors for several generations were Mennonites. In October 1877, she went to Iowa to live with her grandfather and grandmother Kulp. John D. Robertson and Amanda Bookwalter were married August 18, 1881 and settled on a farm near Dublin, Iowa. They moved to Hamilton County, IL, in April 1901. To make the move, they rented a box car, putting the furniture in one end and the livestock and feed on the other side. Though Amanda and the four daughters rode first class on another train, John and son Warren, rode in the box car so they could feed and water the stock on the way. They settled on a farm about a mile north of Blooming Grove Baptist church. They moved to Jefferson County in January, 1906. Their children -- Minnie, Grace, Warren, Lila and Mae were all born in Iowa. Minnie m. William E. Gowler Grace m. Burel Warren Warren m. Iva Sullivan Lila married J. William Riggs and Mae married Clyde N. Warren. For many years, John and Amanda belonged to the Methodist Church. On September 27, 1908 they and their five children joined the Oakdale United Brethren Church. John was a member of the Odd Fellows fraternal organization. They were noted for the hospitality of their home. John died December 31, 1929 of pneumonia. Amanda died February 12, 1932. They are buried at Oakdale Cemetery north of Bluford.
