The Daily American" June 15th, 1933 issue: The body of a man found floating in the Big Muddy river about a mile west of West City late yesterday, was today identified as Isaac CRIDER, 74, of Rend City. He is believed to have been dead since last Monday, when he left the home of his son, Rashio(sic), in Rend City, to go on a fishing trip. When he was found, a sack containing several fish was tied to his belt. He is believed to have stepped into deep water and, being unable to swim, to have drowned soon after arriving at the river. Having been accustomed to staying away from home on fishing and hunting trips for several days that [at a] time, his absence had caused no alarm to relatives.
