Barbara Simms 79-year-old Fairfield resident, Barbara Simms, died at 7:20 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Skilled Care. She worked as a seamstress at a sewing factory. Surviving are her husband Ralph of Fairfield; two daughters, Brenda and husband James Belangee, and Alane and husband David Orr all of Fairfield; one son, Alan Sims and his wife Kathy of Mt. Vernon, IL; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Connie Thomason of Fairfield; and two sisters Velma Dean Trotter of Benton, IL and Bernetha Ralston of Rockford, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Barbara Simms will be at 3 p.m. Monday, April 1 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Monday, April 1 until the time of service at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Skilled Care Unit.
