WEST FRANKFORT -- Cristina Lyn Varis, 41, was born March 5, 1971, to Linda Treece Varis and Robert Varis. Having suffered for many years from Type I diabetes and multiple sclerosis, she greeted her Lord with an open heart and much love Monday, March 4, 2013. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Herbert E. Treece and Frances Compa Treece. She is survived by her mother; her brother, Robert Aaron (Tracey); nephew Robert Wyatt Varis of Lubbock, Texas; great-aunt Bettye Compa; and many cousins. Crissy was a very special person, who brought a smile to all she greeted. She had a wonderful personality and was a person who never met a stranger. Her favorite time was the time she spent with her "Lil Buddy" Shih Tzu. She was a human resource officer working for Warner Bros. and Discovery Channel among others. She specifically wished for donations to be made to Wyatt Varis education fund as he was her favorite little angel. Donations may be made at the memorial service or Parker-Reedy Funeral Home. Her mother and friends will miss her immensely and know that she is with her gram and family in heaven. We love you so much, Crissy! Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, in First United Methodist Church in West Frankfort with the Rev. Tim Gossett officiating. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements. For more information or to sign the guest register, visit www.parkerreedyfuneralhome.com.
