    3. Mary Hill, 94, of Benton; went to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:05 pm. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Parkway Manor in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery of Benton. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour at the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton. Mrs. Hill was born on October 16, 1918 in Bentleyville, PA, the daughter of John Elko and Thersa (Hegedus) Elko. She married William James Hill on February 14, 1954 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2004. Mary was proud to be a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed being an Avon representative and loved to cook for her family and friends. Mary was a member of the North Benton Baptist Church, where she was a former Primary Sunday School Teacher for many years, and along with her husband taught the Young Adult Bible Study. When she became a resident at Parkway Manor in Marion she was faithful in attending church services and kept close to her Lord through prayer. She is survived by four children, Marilyn and husband Jeff Hundley of Benton, Eddie Stevens and wife Mary of West Frankfort, Cathy and husband Don Roeder of Mulkeytown, Karen and husband Dennis Toth of Benton; twelve grandchildren Scott Stevens of North Dakota, David Motter and wife Melissa of Benton, Julie and husband Terry Pierce of Herrin, Tim Stewart and wife Sarah of Kevil, KY, Eric Stevens and wife Michelle of Statesville, NC, Todd Stevens and wife Victoria of West Frankfort, Tammy Overturf of West Frankfort, Brad Roeder and wife Dawn of Christopher, Brett Roeder of Herrin, Vicky and husband Frank Miner of Zeigler, Lindsey and husband Patrick Shumate of Everett, WA, Jeremy Toth of Benton; seventeen great-grandchildren: Lauren Motter, Monroe, WA, Tom Stevens and wife Amy of Everett, WA, Troy Stevens of Snohomish, WA, Logan and Ashtyn Pierce of Herrin, Eric West and Lindsey Stevens of Statesville, NC, Michelle and husband Brian Russell of Johnston City, Shannon Stevens and Timmy Stafford of Statesville, NC, Austin and Maxwell Stevens of West Frankfort, Jack and Liam Stewart of Kevil, KY, Aiden Roeder of Herrin, Jacob and Caleb Miner of Zeigler; six great-great-grandchildren: Liam Shumate, Kendall Motter, Jude Stevens, Tanner Stevens, Tyler Russell and Harlen West; several nieces and nephews; and her Parkway Manor family especially her special friend Ermadean. Mary was always appreciative to those who took care of her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Sophia Swigonski and two brothers Mike and John Elko. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
