"Slew" WILLIS, 68, of Rt. 2, West Frankfort, died at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday in Moun St. Rose Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. He had been a patient there two months and in ill health three years. Mr. WILLIS was born in Franklin County Sept 8, 1900, the son of Marshall and Eva MADDOX WILLIS. He worked for the county highway department between 1950 and 1965 and was a coal miner prior to that time. He was a member of the Town Mount Baptist Church, West Frankfort, Frankfort Masonic Lodge No. 567 and the Odd Fellows Lodge of West Frankfort. He leaves his wife, Frieda; a son, Gene of Indianapolis, Ind.; one grandson; brothers, Oscar and Howard of West Frankfort; and sisters, Mrs. Ruby REED, Mrs Pearl RUMSEY, Mrs. Evelyn CLEM and Mrs. Virginia DAWSON, all of West Frankfort. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Reedy Funeral Home, West Frankfort. The Rev Morris Absher will officiate. Burial will be in Denning Cemetery, West Frankfort. Friends may call at the funeral home.
