    3. ROYALTON - Muriel E. Cook, 80, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, 25, 2013, in Miner's Cemetery in Royalton, with the Rev. Randy Grace officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today, March 24, in Riggin-Pillatsch and Burke Funeral Home in Carterville. Memorials may be made to the Hurst First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Muriel was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Turner, Ark., to Roy Pierce and Mattie (Hill) Langston. She married Lowell Cook in Pana. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Frieda Langston of Maryville, Tenn.; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bud and Charlotte Clifford and JoAnne Corse, all of Royalton, and Audra Zumwalt and Donna Daughtery, both of Pana. Muriel was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Cook; parents, Roy and Mattie Langston; sister, Emogene Corse; brothers, Joe and Buford Langston; and nephew, Bill Corse. She was a member of the Hurst First Baptist Church. Muriel taught elementary school in Pana for more than 34 years. She loved her cat, Boots, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
