Marvin G. Thacker, 73, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 10:12 A.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born on Monday, November 20, 1939 in Ridgeway, Illinois to Thomas and Erva Leona (Belt) Thacker. Marvin is survived by three daughters: Virginia Thacker of St. Louis, Missouri; Leona Thacker and husband Curtis Thomas of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and Janet Johnston of Mount Vernon, Illinois, son: Marvin W. Thacker of South Korea, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three sisters: Janet Reynolds of Kankakee, Illinois; Carolyne Showman of Canby, Oregon; and Neva Jane Ensminger of Mount Carmel, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. His parents, one daughter: Cynthia “Candy” Thacker, and two brothers: Gerald and Clinton Thacker preceded him in death. Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 P.M.Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. VISITATION: will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois INTERMENT: will take place at a later date at Thacker Cemetery in Gallatin County, Illinois For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Mooseheart Child City and School and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
