MEANOVICH, 52, of Rt. 1, West Frankfort, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday in Union Hospital, West Frankfort, where he had been a patient four days. He was a retired detective with the Lake County, Ind., sheriff's office. He was a veteran of world war two with the Seabees. He was born in Zeigler April 17, 1913, the son of Steve and Isabel MORTON MEANOVICH. He was a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, Lodge 677 AF & AM, Chapter 139 of the Royal Arch Masons, Commandry 57, Fraternal Order of Police 125, Chapter 21 of Disabled American Veterans, all in Gary, Ind, and National Sheriff's association. He leaves his wife, the former Iris HAGGARD, two daughter Mrs. Carl McREYNOLDS of Carbondale, and Danell MEANOVICH at home; one sister Mrs Myrtle O'BRIEN of Gary; two brothers, John MEANOVICH and Christopher MEANOVICH, both of Gary; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort. Rev. Alexander Barber, a Scottish exchange minister at the West Frankfort First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Benton Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery. Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
