Ann G. Williams, 88, of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away at 8:42 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois. She was born April 12, 1924 in Zeigler, Illinois to Stanley and Mary Gereci. Ann was a loving mother and grandmother; loved to play cards especially pinochle; member of American Legion in Orient; Moose Lodge, VFW, and Elks Lodge of West Frankfort. She was preceded in death by by her husband, Emery (Al) Williams on June 1, 1988; son, Ronald D. Williams on November 30, 2012; parents; brothers, John Martin and Steve Gereci; sisters, Mary Sicich and Katherine Ruzich; grandson, Michael Williams; great grandchild, Andrew Shelby. Survivors include her daughter, Sandy (Ronnie) Sloan of West Frankfort; grandchildren: Jeff (Stephanie) Sloan, Jason Sloan, Brett (Mable) Sloan, Mark (Marlene) Williams, and Scott Williams; great-grandchildren: Julianne Sloan, Christopher Shelby, and Zachary Wilkins; sisters-in-law, Betty Gereci and Ruth Sweet; friend, Bernice Murphy. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Illinois with Fr. Sean Palas officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton, Illinois.
