Alice Louise Manning, 78, of Benton; went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:47 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Greater Life Sanctuary Church, 1208 South Main Street, Benton, Illinois with Rev. Mark Fitzpatrick officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery of Benton. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at the church. Arrangements are through the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton. Mrs. Manning was born March 11, 1934 in Benton the daughter of Otis Hankins and Lulabelle (Wrye) Hankins. She was married to Billy Eugene Manning and he preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Manning worked in home care and was a member of the Greater Life Sanctuary Church of Benton. She is survived by five children: Debbie and husband Phillip Payne of Greenwood, AR, Gerald L. Hall and wife Tamara of Evansville, IN, David Hall and wife Donna of Almo, KY, Robert Hall and wife Angie of Evansville, IN, Davonah and husband John Rea of Chicago; nine grandchildren; twnety great-grandchildren; three sisters: Dorothy June Hankins of Benton, Ellen West and Gloria Keith of Mulberry, AR; two brothers: Jim Hankins of Birmingham, AL, David Hankins of Monet, IL and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Manning was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Clara Hankins and a brother Ernie Hankins.
