George A. Mulch, age 103, of Mt. Vernon, died Monday morning, March 4th, 2013, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Mr. Mulch was a farmer, and had worked for Mt. Vernon Car Manufacturing Company. Funeral Services for George Mulch will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Rev. Elton Storey officiating. Burial will follow at East Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Vernon; ten grandchildren, Dr. Larry Stonecipher and wife Brenda of Springfield, Illinois, James Stonecipher and wife Lynn of Bloomington, Illinois, John Stonecipher and wife Jarie of Newman, Illinois, Kathie Dodson and husband Larry of Kell, Illinois, Roger Mulch of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Donna Mellott and husband Bill of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Jerry Conner and wife Mila of New York, Dianna Kimbro and husband Brian of Mulkeytown, Illinois, Mary Orcutt and husband Phil of Benton, Illinois, and Ronnie Conner of Chicago, Illinois; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and nineteen great-great-grandchildren. George Mulch was born on November 15, 1909, in Waverly, Illinois, the son of Benjamine Frank and Mary Ella (Miner) Mulch. On February 3, 1930, in Jefferson County, he married Mary A. Simmons, and she preceded him in death on June 28, 1993. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons-in-law, Paul Stonecipher and Robert Conner.
