    3. - Anna Mae Barnard, 87, of Johnston City, formerly of Orient, died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at her residence. She was born April 1, 1925, the daughter and only child of Bill and Ellen Barton of Orient. Anna graduated from FCHS in 1943. She was a member of Royal Neighbors for 87 years. Anna retired from the Bank of Marion in 1987 from the housekeeping department but, she was best known for her desserts and house salad dressing that she made for Burger Nook Too in Johnston City. The family wishes to express, "She will be sadly missed by all. We love you, Mom!" Survivors include three children, Iolanda Oxford of Johnston City, Dennis (Marilyn) Serena of Marion, and David Barnard of Freeman Spur; four grandchildren, Tonya (Sam) Mocaby of Marion, Billy (Melissa) Serena of Colp, Mahilda (Rex) Hopper of Marion, and Amy (Matt) Hale of Marion; nine great-grandchildren, Aaron and Kaci Pogue, Misty, Rex Jr. and Chyene Hopper, Hunter and Dylan Serena of Colp, and Blake and Collin Hale, both of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Barnard; grandson, Steven Serena; son-in-law, Al Oxford and granddaughter-in-law, Jody Serena. Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, in Denning Cemetery on Orient Road, with Brother Randy Grace officiating. There was no visitation. Friends met at the cemetery prior to the service.
