    3. Doris Ethel Baugh, 88, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Evansville Protestant Home. She was born May 25, 1924, in Mt. Vernon, the third of four children born to the late Roger G. and Ethel M. (Elwell) Webb. She attended Mt. Vernon High School and Illinois University in Champaign. After meeting William Baugh, they corresponded for three years during WWII, married and raised a family in Evansville, Ind. Doris was active in many groups and organizations, including Jaycee Wives, The Evansville Garden Club, Daughters of the Nile and she was a den and scout leader. She held various offices in organizations such as DAR and PEO of Evansville. She was a member of The Kennel Club, Rolling Hills Country Club and Tri-State Racquet Club, playing golf and tennis and she loved playing bridge which spanned over seven decades. Throughout her married life, Doris was exceptional at hosting dinners and parties, raising her children and being a wonderful granny. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years; and sister, Ellen. She is survived by four children, Diane (Keith) Pape and their children, Jonathan W. Pape and Laura D. Pape, all of the Cincinnati area; Roger (Kim) Baugh and their children, John D. Baugh and Russell W. Baugh, all of Evansville, Ind.; Barbara B. (Ed) Schultheis and their children, Emily G. Schultheis and Christopher D. Schultheis, all of Evansville, Ind.; and Thomas R. Baugh of Jacksonville, Fla.; her siblings, Roger E. (Norma) Webb of Mt. Vernon and Patsy Bradley of Lakewood, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. Private services for immediate family only will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Stephen Beutler, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Baugh families extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at St. Mary's Medical Center, Dr. David Kim and staff of Radiation Oncology in Newburgh, Ind., all the staff at Evansville Protestant Home, Dr. Karl Sash and the staff at VistaCare Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to the aforementioned above, The Methodist Temple or any favorite charity.
