Jerry Lee Mondino, 63 of West Frankfort, died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday May 3, 2014, at Herrin Hospital. He was born on May 27, 2950 in Christopher to Pete and JoAnne (Rains) Mondino. He married Shirley Avery and she survives. He was a loving husband, father, son, and grandfather. He was an electrician and a member of the IBEW Local 702, member of First Christian Church in West Frankfort, loved duck and goose hunting and also loved to fish. He was preceeded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Nettie Mondino, Lee and Sallie Rains; uncle and aunt, John and Vera Mondino; uncle, Dan Lee Rains; aunt, Wilma Sanks; and cousin, Carol Sanks Sandfort. Jerry is survived by his wfe, Shirley Mondino of West Frankfort; father and mother, Pete and JoAnn Mondino of West Frankfort; sons, Ryan (Heather) Mondino of Galatia, Thomas (Stacy) Syers of Scott City, MO; brother, Mike (Gayla) Mondino of West Frankfort; sisters: Sally Mondino (Gary Caldwell) of Marion and Jane (Dave) Willman of Springfield; sister in law, Linda (Jim) Harris of Thompsonville; four grandchildren, Michael, Sean, Brendon Mondino and Jacqueline Chin; two great-grandchildren, Brittini Bo and Jackson Thomas; special niece, Cathy Wilce of West Frankfort; nieces and nephew and several cousins.
