Vernon Register-News, Friday, August 5, 1955 Services At Ewing For Bessie Sneed Bessie Newsome Sneed, widow of David Sneed, died yesterday a t 7:20 a.m. at her home on Benton road, Route 3. She was 72 years of age. Death was caused by a heart attack. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Ewing Baptist church. Rev. Sam McCoy will conduct the services and burial will be in Kirk cemetery. Friends may call at the Ina Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today. Mrs. Sneed was born at Ewing on Feb. 5, 1883, the daughter of Thomas and Katherine Newsome. She was married Feb. 4, 1909. She is survived by four sons, David, of Ina, Joseph and Herman, of Benton, Route 3, and Thomas, who lives in Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Drennan and Mrs. Carmen Waller, of Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Katherine Neal, of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Festus Newsome, of Benton; three sistere, Mrs. Sarah Taylor, of Whittington, Mrs. Claudia Dixon, of Benton, and Mrs. Edna Whittington, of Denver, Colo. Mrs. Sneed is also survived by 18 grandchildren.
