    3. Roy Leffler Dies Thursday After Lengthy Illness Roy LEFLER, 61, Rt. 1, Benton, a coal miner ill the past two years, died at the Miner's Hospital in Christopher at 11:30 p.m., Thursday. A lifetime county resident, he last worked at Old Ben 14 mine. He was a member of the Palestine Freewill Baptist Church and of local union 1421, United Mine Workers of America. He was the son of the late Thomas and Missouri LEFLER. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary RUNNELS, a son, Clyde LEFLER of Mt. Carmel, six daughters, Mrs. Wendell JOHNSON and Miss Brenda LEFLER, both of Benton, Mrs. Arland KENT of Mendota, Mrs. Joel AVERY of Jeffersonville, Ind., Mrs. Gerald PYRON of Pinckneyville, and Mrs. Harvey PHILLIPS of Lincoln, Neb., two brothers, Elmer LEFLER of Benton and Fred LEFLER of Sesser and a sister, Mrs. Iva WOODS of Benton, eight grand-daughters and seven grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Drake Funeral Home in Benton with Rev. Russell Kilgore and Rev. Max Samples officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Drake Funeral Home, Benton, after 7 p.m. today. ---------- Note: Clipping probably from the Benton Evening News. Dated 10-7-60.
