CHRISTOPHER -- Vickey Lynn Stephens, 62, residing in Mishawaka, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, in Hospice House of Elkhart. She was born Sept. 17, 1951, in Christopher, to the late Virgil Jackson and Wanda (Green) Harris. Vickey is survived by her daughter, Sara (Brett Sr.) Fine of South Bend; sons, Jeff (Kim) Stephens and Jim (Kelly) Stephens, both of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Taylor, Brett Jr., Sydney, Reagan, Olivia, Raymond, Aidan, Lucy, Mckenzie, Elizabeth and Emilee; and great-grandson, Liam. She is also survived by brothers, Roger (Diane) Jackson and Jack (Pinky) Jackson, both of Elkville; brother-in-law, Jerry Rainwater of Du Quoin; and several nieces and nephews, including Teresa (Jim) Derby of Troy, and John (Lori) Rainwater of Du Quoin. She was preceded in death by sisters, Virgilene Rainwater and LaVera Jackson. Most importantly, Vickey was a wonderful mom. Her life was being a grandma and being dedicated to her family. She worked for Pilkington in Niles, Mich., and then Walgreen's in Mishawaka. She also loved sewing, embroidery, reading and taking pictures as well as listening to George Strait. A celebration of Vickey's life will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in Palmer Funeral Home, River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, Ind.
