SOURCE: http://www.christianfunerals.com/obits/obituary.php?id=456846 (Photo) Ronald Gordon Cook, age 74, of Melrose Park, Illinois went to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 8, 2014. Ron was born on November 3, 1939 to Jack and Ruie (Ice) at home in Benton, Illinois, where he was also raised through his graduation from Benton High School in 1957. After graduation he moved to Chicago, where he met Barbara Anne Rochotte on a blind date. They were married in 1959 and lived the majority of their fifty-five years together in Melrose Park, Illinois, where they raised their five children. He was a career truck driver and retired from Teamster Local 705 in 2006. Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, William and George, and sister, Frances (LaPorte-Baumgarte). He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Rochotte), his sons, Duane (Lisa) and John, his daughters, Lori (Terry) Brandt, Sharon (Jeffrey) Peterson, and Sarah (Jason) Rice, and their eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ron was blessed with a rich Christian heritage and trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior when he was 11 years old through the ministry of his family and of East Benton Baptist Church. He served his Lord faithfully in several different capacities in the various churches he attended over the years, including Sunday School Teacher, Bus Driver, Deacon, Treasurer, and Usher. The visitation will be at Shorewood Bible Church, 1900 Hicks Rd. (1/2 block north of the intersection of Hicks and Euclid), Rolling Meadows, Illinois on Thursday, March 13, from 4-8 P.M. Funeral also will be at Shorewood Bible Church on Friday, March 14, at 10 A.M. with a short time of refreshment to follow in the church Fellowship Center.
