BENTON -- Donald Eugene Baker, 78, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, in StoneBridge Senior Living Center. He was born July 1, 1935, in East St. Louis, the son of Herbert and Irene (Ferguson) Baker. He married Barbara (Wilcox) on Aug. 16, 1968, and she survives. Mr. Baker was a retired construction worker. He was a member of Benton Eagles 2898. Mr Baker is survived by his wife, Barbara; three grandchildren, Anya Rice of Mount Vernon, Raven Baker of Norwalk, Calif.; and Peyton Baker of Naples, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Stormie Chaney and Maddison Faith Flores; siblings, Dorothy (Gordon) Hamlin of Oregon; and Harry Baker of California; and several nieces and nephews. His son, Sean Eugene Baker also passed away the same day, March 9, 2014. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, by an infant daughter and by a brother, Herbert Baker. Services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 15, in Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, with the Rev. Mark Minor officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
