Kirkpatrick, 76, died at 7:20 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 1991, at Illinois Veteran's Home at Markword Infirmary. He was a truck driver for Hugh Major Trucking of South Roxana and a World War II veteran. Born in Sesser, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Lula (Johnston) Kirkpatrick. On Aug. 24, 1938, he married the former Peggy Hagen in St. Louis. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Alvin Kirkpatrick of Kankakee; a daughter, Reba McClintock of South Roxana; eight grandchildren; and. seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Wayne Kirkpatrick and a sister, Reba Kirkpatrick Connors. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 10 a.m. at Horse Prairie Baptist Church in Sesser. Burial is in the church cemetery.
