Billie Louise Burton, 85, of Benton, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery. There will be no visitation, family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Arrangements are through the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton. Billie was born on May 9, 1928 in Benton, the daughter of James Talley and Martha (Brown) Talley. Billie worked as a retail clerk and was formerly a waitress. She last worked with her son Dwayne at The Liquor Barrell in Benton. She enjoyed sunbathing, and always had a smile for anyone that she saw. Ms. Burton is survived by her son Dwayne Kirkman and wife Christi of Benton; two grandsons: Jonathon Kirkman of Los Angeles, and Korby Kirkman of Benton; two great-grandchildren: Kailey and husband Dave McCain of Benton and Zackry Kirkman of Logan; four great-great-grandchildren: David, Keegan, Zaedyn and Roxzyn McCain; and two sisters: Linda Melvin of Logan and Lavaughn Overturf of Buckner. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: James and Pete Talley; and six sisters: Leoma Wiggins, Elizabeth Joplin, June Hungate, Mary Sell, Louella Summers and Carolyn Doxsie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Benton Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, and will be accepted at the graveside service or may be mailed to the funeral home.
