The Southern Illinoisan, Monday, January 4, 1965 SWISHER FUNERAL HELD TODAY IN CHRISTOPHER Funeral services for William "Bill" Swisher of Rt. 1, Mulkeytown, were at 2 p.m. today in Russell Funeral Home, Christopher. The Rev. W. D. Berry and Rev. Raymond Richardson officiated. Burial was in Ward Cemetery, Greenwood, Mr. Swisher, 67, died at 6:40 p.m. Friday in Miners Hospital, Christopher, after a four month illness. He was a lifetime resident of Franklin County and a retired miner, last working at Old Ben 11. He was born May 20, 1897, in the Greenwood community, the son of William and Rosa Strickland Swisher. He was a member of the Greenwood Methodist Church and United Mine Workers. He leaves his wife, the former Eva Linsley; sons, Loren Swisher at home and Leon Swisher at Lafayette, La.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Stanley Swisher of Billings, Mont.; and sisters, Mrs. Laura Norris of Christopher, Mrs. Bertie McElroy of Rt. 1, Mulkeytown and Mrs. Epsa Eubanks of Rt. 3, Benton.
