WEST FRANKFORT -- Charles Raymond "Chuck" Davidson Jr., 65, passed away at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at his residence. He was born Dec. 10, 1948, in Herrin, to Charles Raymond and Lucille Vernice (Chanoit) Davidson. He married Sylvia (Schmidt) Davidson. Survivors include his loving wife, Sylvia Davidson of West Frankfort; son Dax and wife, Deanna "Dee" Davidson of West Frankfort; daughter, Chasity and husband, Chip Shupe of West Frankfort; four granddaughters, Alanis and Aleah Davidson and Alexis Ray and Aubrey Shupe all of West Frankfort; a grandson, Canaan Shupe of West Frankfort; one sister, Diane and husband, Victor Tasky of Benton; two nephews; two nieces; and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; brother, Preston Edward Davidson; and a niece, Denise Tasky. Chuck served in the U.S. Army as a Air Borne Ranger Path Finder serving one tour in Vietnam. He was a member of West Frankfort Masonic Lodge and was a contractor and master carpenter. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in Parker - Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Pastor Kenny Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort, with military rites by Orient and Zeigler American Legions, VFW in West Frankfort and the Military Funeral Honors Team in Marion.
