The Southern Illinoisan, Sunday, January 10, 1971 MARY MCELROY RITESTODAY Mrs. Mary McElroy, Mulkeytown, died at 8 p. m. Friday in the American Beauty Nursing Home, West Frankfort. She had been ill for several years. Mrs. McElroy was a lifelong Franklin County resident. She was born April 12, 1889, near Mulkeytown, the daughter of Douglas and Rosetta Strickland Swisher. She was a member of the Greenwood Methodist Church, northwest of Christopher. Her husband, Luther, died in 1942. She is survived by sisters, Mrs. Epsa Eubanks of Rt. 3, Benton and Mrs. Laura Norris of Christopher; and a brother, Stanley Swisher of Rt l, Mulkeytown. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Russell Funeral Home, Christopher. The Rev. Everett Gott will officiate. Burial will be in the Ward Cemetery, northwest of Christopher.
