Larry Dale Smith, 56, of Mulkeytown, Illinois passed away at 6:35 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in West Frankfort. Larry was born December 26, 1957 in Kankakee, Illinois to James Elmer and Doris Mae (Smith) Smith. He is survived by his mother, Doris Mae Smith of Mulkeytown; two step-daughters and sons-in-law, Courtney and Ian Schroeder of Lafayette, IN, Tanya and Travis Kingery of Delphi, IN; two grandson, Dreyden Schroeder and Ryan Cron of Lafayette, IN; three granddaughters, Alyssa, Schuyler and Jenna Adams of Delphi, IN; three brothers, Frederick, Timothy and Marvin Smith; three sisters, Kimberly Little, Brenda Raulerson and Vera Restivo and several nieces and nephews. His father; a sister, LaDonna Green and a brother, James Keith Smith preceded him in death. Mr. Smith honorably serviced his country in the United States Marine Corps in the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean during the Iran Crisis. He was of the Protestant Faith. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Zeigler Cemetery with Brother Denny Bush officiating and military rites courtesy of the Zeigler and Orient American Legions, the West Frankfort VFW and Marion National Guard Flag Detail.
