Edmond Brooks Parkinson s/o Noel Sween Parkinson and Mable Marie Hubbard married Alma Marie Kirkpatrick. Alma is part of both my Rea and Overturf families. His marriage record, the 1930 census and Social Security Death Index all have his name spelled Brooks. Bob The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Thursday, August 14, 1969 Brook Parkinson Dies At His Home Near Sesser Brook Parkinson, 62, died at his home southwest of Sesser Wednesday. Funeral services for Mr. Parkinson will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Brayfield Funeral Home in Sesser. The Rev. Floyd Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday. Mr. Parkinson was born Mar. 13, 1907, the son of Noel and Mable Hubbard Parkinson. He was married 44 years ago to Marie Kirkpatrick, who survives. He was a member of the Bear Point Baptist church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Parkinson is survived by two daughters, Aline Bays of Sesser and Maretta Williams of Benton; four sons, Warren, Grays Lake, III., Ray, Ocean Springs, Miss., and Noel and Daniel, Sesser; one brother, Carl, Mulkeytown; two sisters, Marie Smith of Carbondale and Louise Mottar, Edwardsville; a half sister, Lou Ella McFarland, Rolla, Mo.; five half brothers, Donald Dillon, St. Louis, James Dillon, Decatur, William and Thomas Dillon, Caseyville, and Fred Dillon, Tuscola; and 22 grandchildren.
