Charles Kenneth Todd of Herrin, Illinois, March 11, 1934 - April 15, 2014 (Photo) Charles K. Todd, 80, of Herrin, IL, died at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Todd was born on March 11, 1934, in Logan, IL the son of Noah Todd and Mary Ethel, nee Hall, Todd. He married the former Laura Joyce Filkins and she preceded him in death. On December 7th, 2007, he married the former Linda Dallas who survives. Charles served in the United States Air Force. He worked in maintenance at Celebrity Boats manufacturing company. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing, playing poker and time with his grandchildren. Surviving relatives include his two sons, Bill (Theresa Cline) Todd, Mt Vernon, IL, Leslie (Lisa) Todd, Sullivan, IL, sister, Gladys Thompson, Benton, IL, sister-in-law Margaret Todd, special grandson, Jeremy Todd and seven other grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his many buddies especially his best friends Chuck Walker and Terry Moore. Mr. Todd is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, daughter, Mary Ellen Williams, four brothers, James Todd, William N. Todd, John Todd, Walter Todd and four sisters, Elizabeth Todd, Lorene Cunningham, Rose Summers and Nadine Robey. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL, , with military honors performed by the Benton American Legion/V.F.W. and the Marion National Guard Honor Squad.
