Raymond A. Mrogenski, 91, of Benton, Illinois passed away at 9:30 P.M. on April 6, 2014 at Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton, Illinois. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Morton & Johnston Funeral Home & Cre...matory, Benton. A Prayer Service be offered at 7:30 p.m. during the visitation. Graveside services and interment will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton. Raymond was born in Rend City, Illinois on October 9, 1922 of Anna Nowicki and Barney Mrogenski. He was preceded in death by his sisters Marge Garavalia, Lillian Fred, Virginia Drozd, Irene Mrogenski, and his brother Thomas Mrogenski. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marianne Mrogenski, sons Donald Mrogenski of Cleveland, TN, John Mrogenski of Hillsboro, OR, David Mrogenski of Benton, and daughter Sue Clark of Surprise, AZ, as well as six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Raymond owned and operated the Phillips 66 service station on West Main for several years, and worked for both Western Auto and the Federal Housing Authority. He also worked at Inland Steel #1/Consol Rend Lake Mine from August 1972 until his retirement in January 1988.
