Tucker, 80, of Armington passed away at 5:52 a.m. Saturday (April 5, 2014) at Symphony of Lincoln in Lincoln. He was born Sept. 16, 1933, in Minier, to Owen and Velma Hainline Tucker. He married Darlene Atteberry on June 23, 1957, in Armington, and she survives Also surviving are one son, Marvin S. Tucker, Armington; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Garry Tucker, Armington. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Douglas H. Tucker. He was a U.S. Army veteran. After the service, Harold worked for his father, Owen Tucker, as a truck driver. When his father died, he then worked for his mother, Velma Tucker, also as a truck driver. He and his brother, Garry, owned and operated the oldest working permit, 174MCCR, in the state of Illinois until the business sold in 2005. He then worked part time for Nu-Way Trucking in Bloomington until 2011. He was a member of Eminence Christian Church in Atlanta and a member of Midwest Truckers Association in Springfield. He enjoyed mowing grass and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Davis Mortuary in Hopedale. The Rev. L.C. Sutton will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery in Armington. Memorials may be made to Armington Fire and Rescue or Eminence Christian Church.
