The Mt Vernon Register-News, Monday, June 1, 1970 Paul W. Piper Mt. Vernon Funeral services for Paul W. Piper, 75,1216 south 12th street, were held at 2 p.m. today at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. A. B. Clodfelder and the Rev. Thomas Harper officiating. Burial was in Kirk cemetery. Mr. Piper died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a retired roadmaster for the C. & E. I. Railroad and a member of Wesley Methodist church. He was born in Jefferson county on Dec. 15, 1894, the son of William and Lulu (Watson) Piper. He married Addie Burton in 1915 in Franklin county. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Virginia LaMuska of San Jose, Calif.; two sons, Burton W. Piper of Springfield, Mo., and John E. Piper of Marion: two sisters, Mrs. May Jordan of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Ruth Rogers of Villa Grove; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
