Donald W. Evans, 56, of West Frankfort, IL, died at 4:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Herrin Hospital, Herrin, IL. Mr. Evans was born on January 20, 1958 in Benton, IL the son of James "Jim" E. Evans and Dorris M. (Shockley) Evans. Donald was an Electrician and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed rehabbing homes and was an excellent handy man. Surviving relatives include his father, two children, Amy Carter and James R. Evans, a brother, Michael (Patti) Evans, four grandchildren, Alexis Harrington, Erica Powell, David Evans, and Taylor Graham, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his mother, and one brother, Edward Evans. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
