The Mt. Vernon Register News, Wednesday, May 18, 1977 Alva Scarborough Ina Alva Scarborough, 90, of Ina, died at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Scarborough was born in Illinois on Feb. 14.1887, the son of Bennett and Margaret (Whaley) Scarborough. He was first married to Nettie Clinton, who died In 1960, and later married Nittah Martin, in 1964. She survives. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Benton. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Ina Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Clyatt officiating. Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today. In addition to his wife, Nittah, Mr. Scarborough is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary Lou Leidenhelmer, New Jersey; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and a son.
