Michael “Mike” Raymond Furlow, 47, of Buckner, IL, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Furlow was born on March 6, 1967 in Benton, IL the son of Raymond O. Furlow and Betty J. (Adams) Furlow. Mr. Furlow was a crane operator at I.U. of O.E. and was known for his talent and skills being trusted with very difficult jobs. Mike was very creative and enjoyed constructing metal artwork which was sold locally. He was known for his quick witted humor and loving taking care of animals. Surviving relatives include his parents, a brother, Adam Furlow, Duluth, GA, two aunts, Beverly Arnold, Waukegan, IL, and Thelma Creamer, San Diego, CA, four special cousins, Michael Arnold, Patrick Arnold, Debra (Arnold) Hanson, Bonnie Arnold, two special children from a previous relationship that meant the world to Mike, Dolly and Olivia Williams. Mr. Furlow was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Nora May (Flatt) Furlow, and maternal grandparents, Gus and Maud (Lee) Adams, two uncles Mike Creamer and Jack Arnold. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Harrison Cemetery, Buckner, IL. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Gateway Foundation Drug and Alcohol Substance Abuse Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.
