The Southern Illinoisan, Thursday, August 23, 1973 BERTIE PAYNE Funeral services for Bertie Silkwood Payne, 82, formerly of 703 N. Adams St., West Frankfort will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Union Funeral Home, West Frankfort. Charles Donahue will officiate. Burial will be in Tower Heights Cemetery, West Frankfort. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Payne died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday in American Beauty Nusing Home, West Frankfort. She was born July 24, 1881 in Illinois to Daniel and Missouri Galloway Veach. Her second husband, Valley Payne, preceded her in death. Survivors are four sons, Zola Silkwood, Auburn, Mich., Glen Silkwood, Sanford, Fla., William Silkwood, Steger and Jack Silkwood Riversdale, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Dave Dossett and Mrs. George Williams, both of West Frankfort, Mrs. Doug Holden, Carlsbad, N. M., and Mrs. Seig Holmes, Ovieda Fla.; 26 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
