Mt. Vernon Register-News Website, Mt. Vernon, IL Posted: Tuesday, April 7, 2015 Wanda Wilkinson Ramsey, 98, of Mt. Vernon, died 1:45 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Residential Living Center in Mt. Vernon. She was born Friday, Sept. 8, 1916, in Marion, the daughter of B.A. and Amie (Pendley) Wilkinson. She married Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Ramsey on Oct. 22, 1932, in Benton, and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2004. Wanda was a licensed practical nurse, she was also secretary/bookkeeper for Charles Houston Construction in Easley, S.C. for 10 years and was a dressmaker. She was Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of Second Baptist Church. She is survived by son, Jerry Ramsey and wife Elaine of Mt. Vernon; grandson, Keith Lynn Ramsey and wife Cara of Chester, S.C.; great-granddaughter, Sarah Marie Blair and husband Joe of Niles, Mich.; great-great-grandchildren, Corbin Blair and Channing Blair of Niles, Mich.; brother, Lowell Wilkinson of St. Charles, Mo.; sister-in-law, Mary Nelle Wilkinson of Carrollton, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Troy and Vern Wilkinson; and one sister-in-law, Bonnie Wilkinson. Graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Monday at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Marion with Mr. Johnny Millwood officiating. Interment was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Marion. There was no visitation held.
