(Perryman) Giacoma, 73, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, at her home with her loving family at her side. Gala was born Oct. 5, 1941, in Thompsonville, to Ezra and Geneva (Whitney) Perryman. She married John William Giacoma Dec. 21, 1974, in Benton. He survives in Zeigler. Other survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Jay Porter of Chesterfield, Michigan, Sheila and Johnny Snyder of Newport News, Virginia, Melissa and Tony McMaster of Jacksonville, Florida; a son, John William Giacoma Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Herman and Velma Perryman of Thompsonville and Lonnie Perryman of Olney; a sister, Vivian Gregory of Dix; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; a brother, Allen Eugene (Perryman) Whitney; a granddaughter, Jessica Miller; her mother and father-in-law, Don and Barbara Walker; and a brother-in-law, Jim Walker preceded her in death. Mrs. Giacoma was a member of First Baptist Church in Zeigler. She had worked as a licensed practical nurse. Graveside memorial services for Mrs. Giacoma will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 16, in Egyptian Gardens Cemetery in Energy. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery prior to the services.
