ROYALTON -- John Darnell, 39, of Valier, went home to be with the Lord with many family and friends at his side, Thursday, April 9, 2015, from Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.John was born Oct. 1, 1975, in Elgin, to John and Sue (Bowlin) Darnell.He is survived by his mother of Benton; brother, Joshua of Virginia; sister, Brandy McDaniel of Metropolis; and wife, Charle Darnell. They had a large family, Brianna Becker, Angelica Scholp, Jaeden Grandfeldt, Ranson Darnell, John Darnell III, Gabriel Darnell, Gavin Darnell and Grant, all of Sesser, and Jordan Darnell of Harrisburg, and Gora Brawn of Zeigler; and also grandchildren, Jeremiah Woods and Trinitee Taborn Scott.He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Sandra Bowlin; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.He was preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Shelly Darnell.He graduated from Joppa High school and was a coal miner . He also worked in construction. John was full of life and was a great father, son, brother and friend.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 13, in Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin, with the Rev. Harold Whitlock officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 12 at the funeral home at 427 S.
