Gilbert Funeral Home Website April 7, 2015 Obituary for Donald L. Middleton Donald L. Middleton, 80, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, in Franklin Hospital in Benton. Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Frankfort with Pastor Alan Janneke officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Frankfort and will be accepted at the church. Mr. Middleton was a forklift operator for the Ford Stamping plant in Chicago Heights. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Frankfort. He was born Feb. 21, 1935, in Steger to Gene and Anna (Waggner) Middleton He married Jacqueline (Rendant) Middleton on Nov. 25, 1989, and she survives in Buckner. Other survivors include his children, Sandra Killian of Beacher, Diana and William Rogers of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Ronald and Tonya Middleton of Portage, Indiana, Mary Rogers of Buckner and Walter and Helen Smith of Walterboro, South Carolina; grandchildren, Chrysta and Matthew Staley of Mulkeytown, Thomas and Ashley Rogers of West Frankfort, Jamie and Steve Schmidt of St John, Indiana, Jason Pelton of Beacher, Donald and Candice Rogers of Cambria and Ashley Middleton of Portage, Indiana; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Bertha Williams, Dorothy Bricks and Zetta Settler; five brothers, Gerald Middleton, Roy Middleton, Dwight Middleton, Louis Middleton and Marvin Middleton; and great-grandson, Logan Rogers.
