Roy H. "Herm" Harkins September 16, 1930 - April 1, 2015 Roy H. "Herm" Harkins, 84, of West Frankfort passed away at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in the Westside Care Center in West Frankfort. He was born September 16, 1930 in West Frankfort to Harry and Beaulah (Shepard) Harkins. Survivors include his brothers, Robert Harkins and wife, Betty of Florida and Ron Harkins and wife, Jean, of West Frankfort; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph Harkins. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in West Frankfort where he sang in the church choir. He worked as a custodian and retired from the Frankfort School District 186. Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, in Parker Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
