Irene Sanders, 87, died at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2015, in Herrin Hospital. Irene was born May 23, 1927, in Royalton, to Frank and Winnie (Karr) Caldwell.She was a member of First Baptist Church in Zeigler.Survivors include her daughter, Gina and husband, Tom Wallace of Zeigler; two grandchildren, Julie Prince and Tom Wallace; and seven grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Sanders; parents; four brothers, Willard, Moe, Bob and Freddie Caldwell; three sisters, Dorothy Beck, Aline Weaks and Estelle Shelton.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan 3, in Miners Cemetery in Royalton. There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to the service.Memorials may be made to Fifth Seasons Assisted Living in Benton.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at the funeral home.
