Gordon Andrews Cooper, 73, of West Frankfort, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:30 P.M., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Westside Care Center in West Frankfort, IL. Gordon had been an over-the-road truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith. Gordon was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was born January 31, 1941 at Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the son of Gordon Alexander and Margaret Isabelle (Irwin Andrews) Cooper. He is survived by one daughter - Wanda Cooper of West Frankfort, one son - Denver Zimmerman, Jr. of Elkville, two grandchildren - Brooklynn Cooper of Du Quoin and Bryar Eaton of Murphysboro, and two sisters - Joanne Davies of California and Kathy Barnett of Elkville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother - Robert Cooper, Sr. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
